My Testimony

I was born and raised in a Christian household, with Christian parents who taught me about Jesus, and how He died on the cross to save me from my sins.  When I was around five, I decided to ask Jesus to live inside me.  My dad prayed with me that night.  After I prayed, we looked out the window above my bed into the starry night.  The velvet sky was littered with glittering stars twinkling far above us.  My growing up years were not free of strife, trouble and hardships, and yet I had an Anchor to whom I was planted.   Around seven years later, at age fourteen, I rededicated my life to Jesus.  Now, four years afterward, I continue to grow in Him and am learning to constantly submit my will to His.  I realize my spiritual journey is not ‘impressive’ or ‘extraordinary,’ like some people can testify to.  My journey has been relatively simple, and yet at the same time, it is (and will continue to be) a very special journey.  Only by God’s grace can I say I am relatively free of excess baggage that could have haunted me for the rest of my life.  I know God has a plan for me.  In Jeremiah 29:11 it says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord…” I know God prepared the plans for my life even before the foundations of the earth were set in place.  My purpose is to continue to see what God has in store for my future, and to seek Him with my whole heart.  God’s strength is what drew me through the hard times in my life, and His strength will continue to help me in the years to come.  On Christ the solid rock I stand!
